The Body Shop - Chinese Ginseng and Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask

Today I finally received my package from The Body Shop, something went wrong during shipping so it took a bit longer unfortunately.

The one thing I was most excited about was the Chinese ginseng and rice clarifying polishing mask, because I've heard a lot of good things about this one. Today I tried it for the first time and wanted to share my thoughts!

The ingredients
The key ingredients in this mask are ginseng extract, rice extract and sesame seed oil. These ingredients are good for brightening dull skin, healing the skin and making it smooth.

Texture and Scent
The mask's consistency is grainy, so you can exfoliate your skin when you remove it. This way the skin should look even brighter and smoother. Apart from the exfoliating particles, the mask is really creamy and milky in texture. The mask didn't have a distinct scent and I like that a lot because I'm sensitive to fragrances.

The claims
  • Bright skin
  • Smooth skin
  • Illuminating of the skin
  • Removing dullness and unevenness
My first experience
Today I used the mask for the first time. Upon applying it I noticed the mask has a cooling effect on the skin which was really nice since the weather is quite hot at the moment. This effect lasted the whole time the mask was on my face, and even while removing it. It didn't make my eyes watery either so I loved it.

I left the mask on for about 10 minutes (the packaging suggests leaving it on for 5-10 minutes) and by then the mask was dried up a little but not tight like a clay mask. I first scrubbed the bigger particles on my skin and then removed it all with a washing cloth.

When I removed it I was pleasantly surprised to see that my skin was GLOWING. My face felt so incredibly smooth and soft. On top of that I looked really healthy and my skin didn't feel tight at all. The mask didn't leave a greasy residue either.

After I finished my skincare routine my skin looked better than ever, I can't wait to use it again to see the long term effects. I'm especially curious to see if it actually clarifies the skin like it says on the package.

My first impression was definitely a 5/5! You can buy the mask here for $28

What should I try next, tell me in the comments.
