The Body Shop - Himalayan Charcoal Purifying Glow Mask
Today I will share my thoughts on this mask by The Body Shop. The Himalayan charcoal purifying glow mask is part of their expert facial mask line. This mask in particular is 100% vegan. A mask for drawing out impurities while giving you a youthful glow.
The Ingredients
The key ingredients in this mask are: bamboo charcoal, green tea leaves and tea tree oil. These ingredients are good for drawing out impurities and cleansing the face. Green tea reduces inflammation and oiliness.
The mask can be removed in a scrubbing motion because of these green tea leaves, making it a multi-purpose product.
The Claims
- Drawing out impurities
- Making pores smaller
- Healthy looking skin
- Glowing complexion
My experience
I have used this mask quite a few times now and have to say I'm still kinda on the fence about it. I like that this makes my skin really smooth and glowy, but I think my skin is too dry and sensitive for this type of mask. The mask dries down like a clay mask and this makes my skin feel really tight. I would've loved this mask if it had some moisturizing properties.
The claim about pore size is true, although the effect is temporary. I don't think my pore size has gone down that much. The mask does also really draw out impurities. Because of this I wouldn't recommend using this mask on the day of special occasions, because all the dirt is being drawn to the surface. So it's best to use this mask a few days before events.
In summary, I do in fact like this mask but I think my skin type is not ideal for this type of mask. I still like to use it when my skin is acting up, but it's not a mask I can use daily. Because I can't use it regularly I feel like I'm not getting the most out of it. For people with combination to oily skin this could be a mask for you.
Overall I rate this mask 7/10.
